Fire crews have been called to a blaze at a disused building in East Kilbride on Tuesday morning.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that four appliances were dispatched to the incident at Glen Road in the town shortly after 6am on March 19.

The fire is currently ongoing with firefighters working to extinguish the blaze.

Police have urged local residents to keep their windows and doors closed.

There are no known reports of any injuries as a result of the fire.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Residents in the Glen Road area of East Kilbride are urged to keep windows and doors closed due to a fire in a disused building.

“Officers were made aware around 6.20am and emergency services are at the scene.”
