A park has been cordoned off in East Kilbride in connection with the alleged stabbing of a teenager at Irvine Beach.

Kayden Moy was found seriously injured following a disturbance on the beach at around 6.45pm on Saturday.

The 16-year-old received medical care at the scene but died a day later in hospital. Officers have since charged a 17-year-old in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

As part of Police Scotland’s ongoing investigation into the death, officers have taped off Showpark in East Kilbride.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are conducting enquiries as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of Kayden Moy in Irvine.”
