An East Dunbartonshire taxi firm is the latest business to be torched in connection with an ongoing gang war which has spread across Scotland’s two largest cities.

Emergency services were called to Deuce Private Hire on Cumbernauld Road in Stepps at around 1.50am on Thursday following reports of a fire.

The blaze was extinguished, and there were no reported injuries.

Detectives are treating the incident as deliberate and believe it could be linked to a criminal feud sparked in March.

“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished. There were no reports of any injuries. The incident is being treated as a wilful fire raising and enquiries are ongoing.”
