Person in hospital after emergency services called to serious crash

One person has been taken to hospital after a crash in Glasgow’s east end.

A person has been taken to hospital after emergency services were called to the scene of a serious road crash in the east end of Glasgow.

Duke Street in the Dennistoun area of the city was closed shortly before 11am on Thursday, June 1, from Bellgrove Street to Whitehill Street.

A number of police and ambulance vehicles were seen in the area and drivers were advised to take a different route.

One person has been taken to hospital for treatment, the Scottish Ambulance Service said.

Their condition is currently unknown.

The road reopened about three hours later.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “There has been a serious road crash on Duke Street and police officers are in attendance.”

An ambulance spokesman said: “We received a call at 10.36am to attend an incident on Duke Street, Glasgow.

“Two ambulances, a special operations response team and a trauma team were dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
