Drugs and firearms have been recovered from a property in Glasgow during an early morning raid.

Officers executing a warrant carried out a search of an address on Harefield Drive in the Scotstoun area around 8am on August 25.

They recovered 750g of cocaine and 9.7kg of herbal cannabis worth an estimated £60,000, as well as a number of firearms and ammunition.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with various offences. He was due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on August 26.

Detective chief inspector David Lamont said: “This is a significant recovery and is an example of our efforts to disrupt the trade in illegal drugs in Scotland.

“It also underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

“We would continue to urge anyone with information or concerns about drugs and firearms activity in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
