Drone footage shows extent of raging fire at scrapyard

Drone footage has shown the extent of a fire which raged at a scrapyard in East Ayrshire.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent three appliances to the fire at the yard on Kilmaurs Road in Knockentiber around 4.53pm on Saturday.

Drone footage shared with STV News showed the extent of the blaze affecting a number of vehicles and debris.

Firefighters can be seen using a jet to extinguish the fire.

Crews left the scene after midnight with no casualties reported.

However, due to levels of smoke in the area, local residents in both Knockentiber and Kilmaurs were advised to keep windows and doors closed as a precaution.
