Drivers were warned on Friday morning to expect significant delays after a one-vehicle crash blocked a lane on the M77.
Traffic Scotland warned motorists around 9.30am that the motorway was restricted northbound at junction three due to a road traffic collision.
The Scottish Ambulance Service said an ambulance was called to the scene just after 9am, but no patients were taken to the hospital.
“We received a call at 09.05 to attend a one-vehicle road traffic collision on the M77, northbound. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene, but no patients were taken to hospital,” a Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said.
Just after midday, an update from Traffic Scotland said the collision had been cleared, but lane restrictions were still in place for barrier repairs.
“Lane restrictions are in place for barrier repairs,” the update said.
“Lane two northbound closed. Lane two southbound closed.”
Delays of around 20 minutes were still expected.
An earlier update said: “The M77 remains restricted northbound at Jct 3 due to a road traffic collision.”
“Lane one is blocked on the main carriageway. Road users are to expect delays. Approximately 21 minutes currently.”
