Drivers on the M74 northbound are facing delays of over an hour after a crash.
Following a collision at Junction 1A at around 7.15m on Wednesday, the road remains restricted, with police holding traffic while the incident is dealt with.
Traffic is heavily congested, and current journey times show delays of around 73 minutes.
Motorists are being urged to consider alternative routes as queues continue to build.
There is currently no confirmed timescale for when restrictions will be lifted, and drivers are advised to check for updates before travelling.
An update from Traffic Scotland said at 8am: “The M74 remains restricted at junction 1A northbound following a collision
“All vehicles involved have been removed from the carriageway however traffic remains heavy
“Delays approx. 73 minutes currently. Updates to follow.”
