Driver who died after car crashed into wall named

Frank MacFarlane died after the one-vehicle crash that took place on the A985.

A driver who died after his car left the road and crashed into a wall on Friday morning has been named.

Frank MacFarlane, from Rosyth, died after the crash that took place on the A985 in Fife between Cairneyhill and Kincardine.

He was driving a blue BMW 3 Series when the cash took place at around 5.30am.

The 61-year-old was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he died the following day.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Sergeant Alastair Purvis, of Fife Road Policing, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr MacFarlane at this difficult time.

“Inquiries into the incident are ongoing. We would urge anybody who was driving on the road and may have dashcam footage or witnessed the incident to contact police.”
