A driver was the victim of an attempted robbery after he pulled over to help a biker at the side of a road in South Ayrshire.
The man was flagged down by a motorcyclist, who was parked in a lay-by.
When the driver of the black Mercedes car pulled over to assist, a second biker arrived and smashed the driver’s window in an attempt to steal items from the front passenger side.
Nobody was injured as a result of the incident, which happened on the A719 Sandyford to Galston Road near Tarbolton at around 5.10pm on Friday.
Detective sergeant Craig Semple said: “Thankfully the driver of the vehicle was left uninjured as a result of this incident and managed to drive away safely.
“We are now looking for the public’s assistance to help trace those involved.
“If you were travelling on the A719 around this time and noticed anything suspicious, I would ask that you get in contact with police.
“I would also ask anyone with possible dashcam footage to get in touch with officers.”
