SNS GroupA driver is to stand trial charged with killing a man as he crossed the road.
Sapphire Martin allegedly hit James McFarlane on the A741 Renfrew Road in Paisley on June 23, 2024.
It is claimed Martin was behind the wheel of a car and going at excessive speed.
Prosecutors further state the 40-year-old did fail to maintain proper observations on the road ahead and did not take “evasive action” to avoid colliding with Mr McFarlane.
Martin is accused of then hitting the father, causing him to be left so severely hurt that he passed away at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley on September 5, 2024.
A hearing was called at the High Court in Glasgow.
Lawyers for Martin pled not guilty on behalf of the accused to the charge of causing death by dangerous driving.
Lord Scott fixed a trial, and it is scheduled to start in November 2027.
Martin, also of Paisley, remains on bail.
