A van driver who allegedly led police in a car, helicopter and foot chase through Glasgow has been arrested.
At around 10am on Saturday, officers tried to stop a Ford Transit van in the Glasgow Road area of Wishaw, in connection with a number of road traffic offences.
Police Scotland’s air unit said the force helicopter and officers were involved in a “lengthy vehicle pursuit” from Wishaw to East Kilbride.
The driver is alleged to have abandoned the van and lead officers in a short foot pursuit, before being arrested.
He is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, charged in connection with a number of offences.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10am on Saturday, August 19, police attempted to stop a Ford Transit van in the Glasgow Road area of Wishaw, in connection with a number of road traffic offences.
“The vehicle was traced a short time later in East Kilbride, where a short foot pursuit took place with the male driver.
“He was arrested and charged in connection with a number of offences, and is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, August 21.”
