A driver has been taken to hospital after a lorry overturned on a major road in Argyll and Bute.

Officers were alerted to reports of a HGV on it’s side on the A83 near to Gartnagrenach, Tarbert, around 4pm on Tuesday.

Police confirmed that the driver of the lorry was taken to Mid Argyll Hospital.

Traffic Scotland confirmed that the road was closed in both directions due to the collision for around an hour.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland: “Around 4pm on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 police received a report of a HGV on its side on the A83 near to Gartnagrenach, Tarbert.

“Emergency services attended and the driver has been taken to Mid Argyll Hospital.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
