A driver is in a serious condition in hospital after a car crashed into a stationary lorry on the A75 in Dumfries and Galloway.

Emergency services were called to the crash on the road from Gretna to Stranraer near Annan around 11.10pm on Sunday.

A grey BMW one series was involved in a collision with a stationary white MAN lorry.

The 53-year-old driver of the BMW was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, where hospital staff describe his condition as serious.

The driver of the lorry did not require hospital treatment.

Constable Callum Kingstree said: “Enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.

“We would also ask any drivers who were on the road around the time of crash with dash-cam footage to please contact us.”
