A young man has died following a crash involving a trailer on a major road near Loch Lomond.

Police were called to the A82, near the Stoneymollan roundabout, after receiving reports of a collision between a Ford Fiesta and a Ford Focus with a trailer at around 6.45pm on November 24.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the driver of the Fiesta, a 22-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The road was closed while officers carried out investigations and later reopened at around 3am on Friday.

Officers have now launched an appeal for anyone with any information to come forward.

Sergeant Archie McGuire said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this difficult time.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage which could assist to contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash or who saw the vehicles prior to the crash to get in touch.”
