More than 30 firefighters are tackling a blaze affecting two properties in North Lanarkshire.
Emergency services are tackling the fires on Muirhead Terrace in Motherwell after the blaze at two properties was reported around 6pm on Tuesday.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) has around 30 firefighters at the scene after it sent six appliances.
Residents are being asked to keep their windows and doors closed as there are large volumes of smoke in the area.
Members of the public are being urged to avoid the area if possible.
A SFRS spokesperson said: “We have around 30 firefighters currently tackling a fire affecting two properties at Muirhead Terrace in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire.
“Due to large volumes of smoke from this fire, nearby residents are asked to keep windows and doors closed.
“If smoke is visible within the wider Motherwell and local area, please follow the same safety advice.
“We have six appliances in attendance after receiving the call just before 6pm on Tuesday.
“There are no reported casualties.”
A Police Scotland statement read: “Emergency services are at Muirhead Terrace, Motherwell after reports of an outbuilding on fire.
“The fire was reported around 6pm on Tuesday.
“Residents are asked to keep their windows closed and people should avoid the area if possible.”
