Glasgow City Council have warned dog owners to be vigilant after a dog ate rat poison in Pollok Country Park.

A dog has been seriously injured after eating rat poison left out “maliciously” in a country park in Glasgow.

Glasgow City Council issued a warning on social media after a dog ate the poison at Pollok Country Park.

They urged dog walkers in the area to keep their pets under “close control”.

The council also confirmed that the poison had been left out “maliciously”.

A statement from Glasgow City Council read: “A dog has been seriously injured in Pollok Country Park after eating rat poison left maliciously.

“For now dog walkers are urged to keep their pets under close control & remain vigilant when their dogs investigate items on the ground.”
