Detectives have launched an attempted murder investigation after a man was stabbed in East Renfrewshire.
The alarm was raised at around 9.40pm on Friday when officers were called to Roebank Drive, Barrhead, following reports of an altercation.
Emergency services attended and a 34-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment to stab wounds.
Medical staff describe his condition as stable.
Police are carrying out enquiries and are treating the incident as attempted murder.
Detective constable Emma Nicholson, from Govan CID, said: “Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and it is vital we speak to anyone who was in the area last night and saw what happened.”
