Deliberate fire at nursery school caused £23,000 worth of damage

A shipping container at a Renfrewshire nursery which was deliberately set on fire caused damage worth an estimated £23,000.

The blaze at Langcraigs Nursery on Glenfield Road, Paisley was reported at around 5pm on Sunday, July 24 and was later extinguished by fire crews.

No one was injured but there was a considerable amount of damage caused by the blaze.

Police are now appealing for information or dash-cam footage to help with their enquiries,

Detective Constable Gordon Hunt said: “Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of this reckless act.

“I am appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area and may have dash-cam footage to contact us.”
