The death of a woman at a property in Glasgow and helicopter searches at a country park in East Dunbartonshire are being treated as linked, police have confirmed.
Shortly after 8.40am on Tuesday morning, police were called to reports of a concern for a person at a property on Jura Street in the Mosspark area of Glasgow.
The body of a 35-year-old woman was found within and her death is being treated as unexplained as enquiries remain ongoing.
At around 11am on Tuesday, a heavy police presence was seen at a country park in East Dunbartonshire.
Residents reported seeing helicopters circling Mugdock Country Park in Milngavie.
Police later confirmed officers were in attendance at the park in an ongoing missing person investigation.
It has since been confirmed the hunt is being treated as linked to the death on Jura Street.
There is not believed to be any risk to the wider public.
Detective chief inspector Cheryl Kelly said: “We were made aware of concern for a woman at a property on Jura Street in Glasgow shortly after 8.40am on Tuesday, April 25.
“Officers attended and the body of a 35-year-old woman was found within.
“Her death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries remain ongoing.
“Officers have been carrying out extensive searches of Mugdock Country Park in relation to a missing person in the area.
“This is being treated as linked to the death at Jura Street and enquiries remain ongoing.
“Our thoughts are very much with everyone affected by this tragic incident.
“There is not believed to be any risk to the wider public but anyone with information or concerns can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 0904 of April 25.
“A police presence will remain at both locations as enquiries continue and anyone with information is also urged to speak to any of our officers.”
