Death of man on town high street 'unexplained' as police launch probe

Emergency services were called to West High Street in Kirkintilloch at around 2am on Sunday morning.

Officers are investigating after a man was found dead on a street in East Dunbartonshire.

Emergency services were called to West High Street, Kirkintilloch, at around 2.05am after receiving reports of a man being found injured.

Upon arrival, the man was pronounced dead.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and investigations are ongoing.

The man’s identity is yet to be confirmed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.05am on Sunday, January 28, 2024 police were called to a man having been found injured on West High Street, Kirkintilloch.

“Officers attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
