The death of an electrician who was electrocuted at work is to be investigated.
George Anderson from Lanark died after being electrocuted while working at a property in Brodick on the Isle of Arran.
A Fatal Accident Inquiry is to be held into the 46-year-old’s death as it occurred during his employment.
A Preliminary Hearing has been set for October 1 at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.
The inquiry will look at how the death occurred and what precautions could have been taken to avoid it.
Unlike criminal proceedings, FAIs are inquisitorial in nature and are used to establish facts rather than to apportion blame.
“The lodging of the First Notice enables FAI proceedings to commence under the direction of the Sheriff.
“Mr Anderson’s family will continue to be kept informed of significant developments.”
