A man threw a road block at police officers during a Rangers fans title party in Glasgow.
David Newlands, 49, launched the missile at public order officers dispersing the crowd at George Square on May 15, 2021.
Thousands of jubilant Rangers fans gathered that day to celebrate the club’s Scottish Premiership title win.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard a number of fans “engaged in a large number of acts of violence and disorder.”
This included punching, kicking, throwing items of furniture and challenging officers to fight.
An order to clear the square was made after 8pm and an announcement was made on social media.
Due to the disorder, a public enquiry team were tasked with dealing with potential offences.
Prosecutor Hannah Sweeney said: “Newlands was within a large crowd at George Square standing in front of police public order officers who were trying to disperse the crowd.
“At around 9.32pm Newlands picked up a large red road block in both hands and threw it in the direction of police officers.
“This landed on top of officers’ heads causing potential injury and major disruption to their duty that day.”
Newlands was traced following a review of CCTV and he was later arrested.
He pled guilty to culpable and reckless conduct with a football aggravation.
Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month by Sheriff Joan Kerr.
Newlands, of the city’s Parkhouse, was granted bail in the meantime.
