A man has admitted singing offensive songs outside Ibrox Stadium on Old Firm day.

David Murray, 25, pled guilty to conducting himself in a disorderly manner on January 2, 2021.

Court papers state he congregated on the pavement at Edmiston Drive in Glasgow and repeatedly shouted and swore, as well as uttering threats of violence.

Murray also incited public disorder, sang songs that were “grossly offensive” and “menacing in character.”

He then made an offensive gesture with his hands and committed breach of the peace.

The charge was aggravated by religious prejudice.

Rangers went on to win the match against Celtic 1-0 at Ibrox stadium in the city.

Murray, of the city’s Priesthill, will appear again at Glasgow Sheriff Court next month for sentencing pending background reports.

He remains on bail in the meantime.
