A social commentator, a composer and a football chief are to be awarded honorary degrees by the University of Glasgow.
Author Darren McGarvey, also known by his rap name Loki, is among the recipients in recognition of achievements in the fields of politics, arts, science and humanities.
McGarvey will be presented with his doctorate on Wednesday, June 12, to mark the foundation of the university in 1451.
Murdoch MacLennan, chairman of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) joins author and university alumni Janice Galloway in receiving honorary degrees this year.
Composer Errollyn Wallen and Polly Jones, head of the Trussell Trust in Scotland, will also be recognised.
Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli, principal and vice-chancellor, University of Glasgow, said: “Awarding honorary degrees is a way for the University of Glasgow to recognise world-changing achievements and celebrate the successes of individuals who have made a positive impact on society.
“I am delighted that the University is recognising graduands from a range of diverse backgrounds and disciplines who have each made an important difference in their respective fields, bringing benefit to people’s lives across the globe.”
