Cyclist taken to hospital after being struck by car during rush hour

A man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after a crash on Aikenhead Road, Glasgow, on Tuesday morning.

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car during the morning rush hour in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Aikenhead Road near to Calder Street, at around 6.40am on Tuesday, after a crash between a car and a bike.

A man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. His condition is currently unknown.

Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.40am on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, we were called to a report of a road crash involving a car and a bicycle on Aikenhead Road near to Calder Street, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and a man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
