A cyclist has been left seriously injured following a crash with a van in Glasgow.

Emergency crews were called out to a collision between a bike and a Volkswagen Caddy van on Drymen Road, Bearsden, at 4.30pm on Wednesday.

The 47-year-old male cyclist was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow for treatment of serious injuries.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to get in contact.

Sergeant Ally Johnson, of Police Scotland’s Glasgow Road Policing Unit, said: “A man has sustained serious injuries as a result of this incident and we are looking for assistance from the public to establish the full circumstances.

“If you were in the area at the time of the crash and have any information that could assist with our enquiries please get in contact with police.

“I would also ask if anyone driving in the area has possible dashcam footage that they get in contact with officers.

“Police can be contacted by calling 101 and quoting incident number 2830 of Wednesday, April 14, 2021.”
