Cyclist in serious condition in hospital following car crash

A cyclist is in a serious condition in hospital following a crash involving a car in North Ayrshire.

Emergency services were called to the collision involving a white MG3 Exclusive car on the A737 between Dalgarven Mill and Hillend roundabout near Dalry around 7.20pm on Monday.

Emergency services attended and the cyclist, a 55-year-old man, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

His condition is described as serious.

The road was closed for crash investigation work and reopened around 11.50pm.

Constable Paul Kelly said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.

“If you were driving in the area at the time, please also check any dash-cam footage you have and get in touch if you have captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”
