Police have recovered more than £60,000 of what is believed to be cocaine following a drugs raid in East Ayrshire.

Acting on a sheriff’s search warrant, officers from the Ayrshire division’s Proactive Crime Team swooped in on a property in Horwood Place, Mauchline, at 9.30am on Friday.

A 39-year-old man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal over the suspected Class A drugs haul.

Chief inspector Steven Meikle said: “Drugs are a blight on society and ruin the lives of too many in our community.

“Our officers are committed to tackling these issues and continue to work with partners and specialist police officers to identify offenders and bring them to justice.

“Action like this would not be possible without the continued support of the public.

“I encourage anyone with information about those involved in drug dealing to get in contact with their local policing team.”

If you have concerns about drug dealing in your community, call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
