Couple arrested over organised crime probe after arriving from Dubai

Officers responded to a tip-off that the pair were set to arrive in Glasgow on an Emirates flight.

Two people have been arrested at Glasgow Airport after stepping off a flight from Dubai in connection with an organised crime probe.

Six officers from Police Scotland responded to a tip off that the couple would be arriving on the Emirates service on Wednesday, June 8.

The 29-year-old man and 23-year-old woman were detained in the arrivals hall after flight EK27 landed in the city.

Details over the nature of the arrests have been kept under wraps and no charges have been filed as yet.

A police spokesperson said the investigation was at an early stage.

They added: “On Wednesday, June 8, 2022, officers, acting on intelligence, arrested a 29-year-old man, and a 23-year-old woman at Glasgow Airport in relation to serious and organised crime offences.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
