With just months to go until next year’s Commonwealth Games, a new clock has been unveiled in Glasgow Central Station.
It is counting down to the opening ceremony on July 23 – 238 days away.
The clock has been designed by the Glasgow-based blacksmith and sculptor Agnes Jones, who was selected through a public search.
Glasgow will host the event for the second time in 12 years, with over 3,000 of the world’s top athletes from 74 nations and territories set to descend on the city next summer.
STV NewsThe 23rd edition of the Games will begin on July 23 and run until August 2, with 133 sessions of sport, including more than 50 medal sessions.
Over 200 gold medals will be up for grabs across ten sports and six Para sports.
Speaking to STV, designer Agnes said: “I applied with an idea of having a bit of a thing like a Grecian vase, of all of the athletes kind of running and wheeling and moving towards the countdown clock and having that as the finish line.
“Having something in such a prominent position is really thrilling.”
