Friends of a Glasgow DJ missing in Berlin since the early hours of Monday morning are growing increasingly concerned for his wellbeing.

Leigh Gallagher, 25, was found in an alleyway with an injured arm about three hours after leaving the Anomalie Art Club in the German capital’s Prenzlauer Berg district on Sunday night.

The girl who found him called an ambulance and he was taken to Vivantes Hospital in Friedrichshain. But Leigh quickly discharged himself, at around 3am on Monday morning, and nobody has heard from him since.

Rebecca Short, 22, Leigh’s girlfriend, told STV News she was trying to keep positive that he will be found safe but is “very, very concerned” for his safety.

She said: “We were at a club on Sunday night. He left early without telling anyone about 11pm.

“He was found by a random girl in a dark alleyway about three hours later with a cut on his arm. The girl said he wasn’t able to communicate very well and didn’t seem in a good way.

“He didn’t have a phone or a wallet with him on the night he went missing because he lost them both a few weeks ago.

“I don’t know why he was down an alleyway, maybe trying to climb a fence or something. The girl that found him put him in an ambulance and he was taken to hospital.

“The police told us he arrived at hospital around 2.30am on Monday morning and discharged himself at around 3am. He hasn’t been seen since then.”

Leigh and Rebecca, both originally from Glasgow, have been a couple for around three years and have lived in Berlin for the last 12 months.

Rebecca said she is finding it difficult to get information from hospitals due to German privacy laws.

“I am trying to keep positive but I have my moments. I am very, very concerned and just hoping he is in a hospital somewhere.

“This is very unusual behaviour for Leigh. He likes going out clubbing but there’s no way he would still be out like this.

“If he’s not in hospital then I just do not know where he is.”

Rebecca and Leigh’s friends are putting up posters and trying to spread awareness of the situation on social media.
