A restaurant which opened as part of a £100m development in Glasgow is handing out free coffee to commuters to launch its new coffee shop.
Hazel was unveiled on the corner of John Street and George Street as part of the major Love Loan development in November 2023.
Working with Edinburgh-based Machina Coffee and the “award-winning” Three Sisters Bake, the restaurant is now launching its speciality coffee venue.
To celebrate the opening, Hazel will hand out free cups of specialty filter coffee in Glasgow’s John Street on Friday morning.
Hazel’s food and beverage manager Katie Booth believes the location will “prove a hit”.
She said: “Glasgow city centre is alive again with workers, and they are crying out for new and exciting options to brighten their commute and get the day off to the brightest possible start.
“We all remember how happy hours marked the iconic end to the working day in the golden years of the office, and we believe a morning ‘commuter hour’ is the perfect fit for the modern hybrid workforce.
“We’re just a stone’s throw away from Glasgow Queen Street station, and en route to the office for many people, and remote workers and those holding meetings can take advantage of the new service and ideal facilities and environment at the AC by Marriott Hotel Glasgow next door.
“We’re already known for our partnerships with Scotland’s best artisanal suppliers and working with one of the most popular roasters and bakers to create this new cafe concept is a natural elevation of that.”
