Clydeside Expressway closed for six hours after pedestrian hit by vehicle

The road has reopened following the earlier collision.

The Clydeside Expressway in Glasgow was closed to all traffic for hours after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.

The A814 was shut in both directions between Anderston Cross junction and Finnieston Street, and emergency services are in attendance near Anderston station.

Police said the crash took place around 1.35pm on Wednesday.

Traffic Scotland warned of rush hour delays with the Junction 19 off-slip heading east remaining closed around 5pm.

Road users were asked to avoid the area.

Officers reopened the road almost six hours after the collision.

A Police Scotland statement read: “The Clydeside Expressway is closed in both direction following a crash involving a pedestrian and vehicle which happened around 1.35pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

“Emergency services are in attendance. Motorists are advised to seek alternatives routes.”
