A care worker from Clydebank has been struck off after she ordered her dog to attack police officers.
Shannon Morrow was employed as a care assistant at Hillview Care Home in Clydebank, however, she was removed from the register after failing to disclose her criminal convictions.
On April 13, 2023, Morrow appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court after threatening police officers on a number of occasions.
The first incident took place on November 2, 2022. The carer ordered her German shepherd, called Droco, to bite police officers in attendance.
On December 28, she threatened three police constables and acted in an abusive manner. A month later, on January 12, Morrow assaulted two officers and commanded Droco to attack an officer.
The German shepherd gave chase to the officer and lunged for them.
On June 1, 2023, Morrow appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court and was convicted of striking a doctor on the head and biting an individual on the body at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on October 2, 2022.
The Scottish Social Services Council stated that the conduct displayed by Morrow was “serious” and that her “behaviour was violent in nature”.
The report read: “The Panel also had regard to the seriousness of the conduct.
“It found that your conduct had been serious, it had involved several assaults on members of other professions, namely a doctor and police officers.
“It had happened on more than one occasion. You had also failed to notify your own regulator about your conduct and the criminal proceedings that led from it.”
