North Lanarkshire Council say they have “taken action” after a child was racially abused by pupils at a primary school.
The incident occurred at Glengowan Primary School in the Caldercruix area of Airdrie on Friday.
The abuse was reported to staff who then informed the local authority.
An investigation was carried out by the council, who say that action has now been taken.
A spokesperson for the school said: “We are aware of this incident and have investigated it and taken appropriate action.
“We work hard to create a culture of tolerance and respect among our pupils.
“We are proud to be a UNICEF Gold Rights Respecting School, and this isolated incident does not reflect the strong values we share as a school community.”
