A child has been taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle outside a Glasgow primary school.

Emergency services were called to Dougrie Road near Castletown Primary School in Castlemilk after reports of a boy being knocked down at around 3.15pm on Thursday.

The boy was taken to hospital for treatment; however, the seriousness of his injuries is not known.

An investigation into the full circumstances is ongoing.

The road has since reopened.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.15pm on Thursday, 13 August, 2026, we were called to a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a child pedestrian on Dougrie Road, Castlemilk.

“Emergency services attended and the boy was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing. The road has since reopened.”
