An investigation was launched after a pupil was found with a “waiter’s corkscrew” in a school in Inverclyde.
A student was found in possession of a corkscrew with a small foil cutter blade at Notre Dame High School in Greenock on Tuesday morning.
Inverclyde Council confirmed the item was brought to the attention of staff and it was immediately taken from the child.
“An internal investigation was carried out and all appropriate action was taken,” the council said.
