The William Scottish Cup Final will see Celtic and Dunfermline go head-to-head at Hampden Park today.
Martin O’Neill will take on Pars boss Neil Lennon, who he signed for the Hoops in 2000, after previously bringing the midfielder to Leicester City.
Celtic are in search of a league and cup double after sealing the Scottish Premiership title in dramatic circumstances last weekend with a 3-1 victory over Hearts at Celtic Park.
Dunfermline, who last won the Scottish Cup in 1968, saw their top-flight promotion hopes ended this season at the hands of Partick Thistle after the Fife side went down 3-2 to the Jags over two legs.
Celtic interim manager Martin O’Neill insists he’s “not surprised” Neil Lennon has been a success in the dugout, as he heaped praise on his former captain.
Speaking ahead of today’s cup final, the Hoops boss said: “There are a lot of players that I’ve managed that might have surprised me going into management and doing well.
“What he’s done did not surprise me. You know, it did not surprise me. Obviously, he loved playing, but when he stepped into managing and coaching, I knew he’d be successful.”
The Celtic boss, who could be taking charge of the team for the final time today, admitted he would be delighted to end the season on a high with another trophy.
He said: “I would honestly, I would love to win. I’d really love to, and [not winning], that would be a major disappointment.”
Neil Lennon has admitted the prospect of facing off against his former manager will be “surreal”, but the Dunfermline boss warns he will be going all out to take the trophy back to Fife.
The former Celtic midfielder said: “It’s about getting your professional head on, but it will still be surreal considering how long I’ve known him and what he’s done for my career.
“It doesn’t surprise me what he’s done this season. He’s an amazing guy. He’s also an amazing manager.
“I think it’s fantastic that we’ve come here, but you know, I want to win it. I want to get that into the players. I want to get that in the supporters.”
Celtic v Dunfermline will kick off at Hampden Park at 3pm today.
