A CCTV appeal has been launched after a man was seriously injured in a “violent attack” in Bellshill.
Officers were alerted to the incident that happened around 11.50pm on Saturday March, 9, 2024.
Police confirmed a 49-year-old man sustained a serious injury after he was assaulted by four men.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection and was due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on April 2, 2024.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, with police releasing CCTV images of two men who may be able to assist in their investigations.
The first man is described as being white, bald, and of medium build.
He was wearing a dark blue top, light coloured jeans and white trainers.
The second man is described as being white, in his early 20’s and has short dark hair.
He was wearing a white t-shirt, dark jeans, and white trainers with dark soles.
Police added that the second man has a tattoo on his left upper arm.
The force is urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
Detective constable Adele Johnston, of Wishaw CID, said: “This was a violent attack on a member of the public. This man sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident.
“This is a busy residential area and I would urge anyone who either saw these men, or who recognises their description, to come forward and contact us.
“Anyone with information should contact police via 101, quoting incident number 0014 of Sunday, March 10, 2024.
“Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
