Man wanted over attack near river that left victim scarred for life

A man was attacked behind a sports complex close to the river.

CCTV appeal after man left scarred in attack near River Kelvin in Glasgow Police Scotland

CCTV images have been released of a man wanted in connection with an assault that left the victim scarred for life.

The attack took place behind Garscube Sports Complex, beside the River Kelvin, in Glasgow, last month.

Emergency services were called to the scene following the incident on Thursday, April 28, and the injured man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police were also in attendance and investigating officers now believe that the man pictured will be able to assist them with their enquires.

He is described as being around 5ft6 with a medium build and aged around 55-years-old with slightly grey hair.

At the time of the attack he was wearing dark trousers, a white t-shirt, light-coloured fishing gilet and a light-coloured bucket hat.

Detective Constable Rachel Fulton, from Greater Glasgow CID, said: “I am urging the man in this image, or anyone who has information regarding his identity, to please contact police.

“Enquiries to trace the person responsible for this attack are ongoing and we continue to appeal for help from the public. Officers can be contacted via 101.”
