A car has plunged into the sea after crashing through a barrier in Ayrshire.
The driver of the vehicle has been taken to hospital following the smash on the A78 near Largs at 11.40am on Monday.
Emergency services are in attendance and the recovery of the car is under way.
Police confirmed the motorist suffered minor injuries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.40am following reports of a crash where a car ended up in the water at the A78 near Largs.
“Emergency services are still in attendance and the recovery of the car is under way.
“The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries.”
