Emergency services were called to Junction 19, which leads to the Clyde Expressway, at around 3pm on Thursday following reports of a vehicle fire.
Traffic Scotland confirmed that the slip road was closed while emergency services attended the scene.
The road later re-opened at around 4.30pm, but remains restricted to one lane.
An update from Traffic Scotland read: “The Westbound off slip (Junction 19) is restricted following an earlier vehicle fire.
“Traffic can now use the off-slip and one lane is running.”
