Police have called for witnesses after a man and a woman were left in hospital following an attack in a town in West Dunbartonshire.
Emergency services were called to Longden Street in Whitecrook, Clydebank, after a 57-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were assaulted at around 8.50pm on Monday.
Both were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Their current condition is unknown.
Detectives have now launched an investigation into the incident and have called for any potential witnesses to come forward.
Detective constable Ross Gemmell said: “We are working to establish the full circumstances and would urge anyone with information to come forward.
“Our enquiries so far suggest a number of people were in the area at the time and I would ask anyone who hasn’t yet spoken to police to get in touch.
