An industrial estate in North Lanarkshire was evacuated on Thursday following a reported ‘gas leak’.
Emergency services were called to Shawhead Industrial Estate in Coatbridge after they were alerted to the incident near to Hagmill Road at around 8.50am.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent one engine to the scene and the businesses nearby were evacuated as a precaution.
Police officers were also in attendance and closed the area off.
There were no reported injuries due to the incident.
Fire crews left the scene at around 10.15am after ensuring the area was safe.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.50am on Thursday, April 16, to reports of a gas leak at an industrial estate near to Hagmill Road in Coatbridge.
“Operations Control mobilised one appliance to support partners at the scene and the site was evacuated as a precaution.
“There were no reported casualties, and crews left at 10.15am after ensuring the area was made safe.”
