Buildings evacuated after suspected gas leak at flat

Homes have been evacuated after a suspected gas leak at a flat in Glasgow.

Emergency services are currently in attendance on Abbotsford Place in the Laurieston area following the incident.

Residents have been evacuated from nearby properties while engineers work to resolve the issue.

Members of the public are being urged to avoid the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Abbotsford Place is closed following a report of a suspected gas leak at a flat.

“Emergency services are in attendance and people have been evacuated from neighbouring properties.

“Please avoid the area while gas engineers work to resolve the issue.”
