Two teenagers have been charged with attempted murder after a 16-year-old was reportedly dragged to the ground and stamped on.
The two boys, also both aged 16, have now been arrested over the alleged attack on Argyle Street’s junction with Jamaica Street in Glasgow on Friday night.
Emergency services were called to the city centre at around 7.50pm and the injured boy was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he has been treated for his injuries.
Police say the two suspects will appear at court on Tuesday.
Detective Inspector Iain Nelson, from Glasgow City Centre CID, said: “I would like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter.
“Officers are continuing to follow other positive lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances leading up to this assault and trace those involved.”
