A nine-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a car near a Glasgow primary school.

Police and paramedics arrived at the scene on Cumbernauld Road after receiving reports of a crash at around 3.05pm on Friday February 9 near Haghill Primary School.

The boy was taken to hospital for treatment but his current condition is unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.05pm on Friday, 9 February, 2024, we received a report of a crash involving a car and a nine-year-old male pedestrian on Cumbernauld Road, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and the boy was taken to hospital for treatment.”
