Boy, eight, left in hospital after being hit by car near school

An eight-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car near a primary school in East Dunbartonshire.

Emergency services arrived at the scene on Roman Road, near Bearsden Primary, after receiving reports of a crash at around 4.30pm on Tuesday.

The boy was taken to hospital for treatment but his current condition is unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.30pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 we were called to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Roman Road in the Bearsden area of Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, an eight-year-old boy, was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
