A 15-year-old boy is in hospital with a serious facial injury after being attacked with a weapon by another teenager.

The assault happened at around 9.25pm on Saturday, April 9, on Middleton Road in Linwood, Renfrewshire.

Having sustained the injury to his face, the boy was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Police are seeking a suspect described as being around 15 to 17 years old, around 5ft 7, with brown/light ginger hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt and red shorts.

Detective constable Robert Urquhart, from Paisley CID, said: “This incident saw a teenager sustain a serious facial injury and it is vital we trace the individual responsible.

“Extensive enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone with any information which may assist us to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage to contact us.”
